Apple pulls ‘gay cure’ app from store

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The website CultofMac.com is reporting that Apple has responded to an online petition by pulling an app designed by a Christian group  to urge people to turn away from homosexuality.

The app was removed from the iTunes store sometime on Tuesday afternoon.

An online petition gathered around 145,000 signatures before Apple pulled the app. So far, Apple has not released a statement and the group behind the petition, Truth Wins Out, is encouraging people to continue signing the petition until a statement is released.
