Travel into Spring in style

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Many people hit the road or take to the skies for spring break as winter makes its exit.  But it's not just vacationers or the seasons that are on the move, styles are changing too!  Fox 6 News goes behind the scenes of a cool fashion shoot in Birmingham highlighting some first class styles and a few ways to travel into the new season with items you already own.

Founder of, an online style magazine for southern women, Amy Bailey, says that white will be big this spring.

"Our model Danielle we wanted to shoot her in white jeans a white top and also we did some shots in a white dress," Bailey said.

Pops of color are also going to be big.

"From bright yellow, to red, to blues, to peach and white polka dots.  Those colors are so reminiscent of the 1960s and such a fun, fun look for spring," Bailey said.

It's not just about clothes accessories can also brighten up any outfit.  Bailey suggests great handbags and wedge heels for this spring.

Adding all these must haves to your closet might get a little pricey.  Bailey offers ideas on how to transition from winter to spring with items you probably already own, like a simple pair of blue jeans.

"If your jeans are longer you can roll them up and pair them with a white tank that's a fun look for spring," Bailey said.  "Scarves are a great transitional piece, even a light weight scarf that you wore in the winter."

There's obviously lots of ways to travel into the new spring season.  Just make sure your fashion moves reflect your own unique style.
