BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A suspect in the stabbing of a man in Wylam has been identified and charged with murder.
Michael Burts, 53, allegedly got into an argument with the victim prior to the stabbing which occurred around 11 p.m. March 10 in the 4300 block of 10th Avenue.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at UAB hospital after being transported there by the Birmingham Fire and Rescue department. The victim's identity is being withheld until his family is notified of his death.
Burts is being held in the Birmingham City Jail with a $60,000 bond and will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail soon.
