Man dies at Birmingham Water Works in industrial accident

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A man is dead after he fell 33 feet from a tower Friday morning, Jefferson County Sheriff Chief Deputy Randy Christian confirms to Fox 6.

The man, who has not been identified, fell during an industrial accident at the Birmingham Water Works plant on Highway 280.

B.L. Harbert construction company released a statement early Wednesday afternoon stating that the victim was a subcontracted employee of CROM Corporation working on its upgrade project at the Shades Mountain Water Filtration Plan.

Along with OSHA, BL Harbert said it will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the investigation.

BL Harbert extends their condolences to the victim's family.
