HUEYTOWN, AL (WBRC) - There were some frightening moments for people in Hueytown overnight as several homes were sprayed with bullets. It happened on Coalfire Avenue.
One man living there had a very close call. One of the bullets shot hit the headboard of the bed that Joe Clay was sleeping in. The bullet hole can be seen only a few inches from the pillows on the bed.
Police responded to a shooting at around 3:00 a.m. They are not releasing much information on what the motive is behind the incident, but officers spent the morning documenting evidence, collecting bullet casings and finding several bullet holes at more than just Clay's home.
In all, Clay says four rounds hit his house and he says he heard shouting as the shots rang out.
FOX6 News has put in calls to the Hueytown police chief and has not heard back from him yet.
