Forestdale shootout between home owner, three men

FORESTDALE, AL (WBRC) - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is searching for three men wanted in connection with a shootout at a home in Forestdale.

The Sheriff's Department, in a statement Wednesday afternoon to FOX6 News, said three black males approached a home in the 2000 block of Melinda Drive at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday, appearing to be breaking into the residence. Investigators said the home owner saw the men through the front window and, when the men saw him, fired three shots at the home owner.

Deputies said the home owner returned fire.  The three men then fled the scene in a dark-colored Cadillac with tinted windows.

No injuries were reported.
