Youth leadership conference gives students options for future

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Alabama Power organized the ninth annual youth leadership conference in Tuscaloosa today to show students there is more than one way to be successful after leaving high school.

Some of those options include "looking at two-year colleges, training yourself, getting a technical skill, looking at the Army, Navy, Marines and getting a specific training program in place," said Joseph Brown with Alabama Power.

Representatives from the Armed Forces, two- and four-year colleges and area businesses attended the conference to give students advice on finding a career. More than 500 high school juniors from 11 west Alabama counties attended the event.
