Tuscaloosa votes in favor of Sunday alcohol sales

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Tuesday, Tuscaloosa residents voted in favor of selling alcohol on Sundays.

Nearly 9000 voters wanted Sunday sales compared to around 2500 that were against selling alcohol on Sundays.

Tuscaloosa voter turnout was 26%. The vote will be certified next Tuesday after the provisional ballots are counted. Officials say there are not enough provisional ballots to change Tuesday's outcome.

Sunday alcohol sales will begin in Tuscaloosa on March 6 from noon til 9:30pm.
