BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham City Council members and Mayor William Bell met with the Jefferson County legislative delegation on Tuesday about the legislative agenda for Birmingham.
All of the Birmingham City Councilors were in attendance. Only 5 of the 18 House members attended the event.
On Birmingham's agenda was election dates, money for transit, changing polling places, finalizing the Collegeville Bridge project and helping with an overpass in the Thomasville community.
Both sides say the meeting will help accomplish better relationships between the legislature and city council.
Lawmakers noted that the budget troubles for the state will make it hard to fulfill funding requests.
