Man arrested after allegedly assaulting female driver

BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) – The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says a man has been taken into custody after witnesses say he assaulted a female driver.

According to Randy Christian with the sheriff's department, 31-year-old Ramon Bursell Bowers was seen driving a beige Ford F150 truck into the back of another vehicle on 18th Avenue North and 31st Street North in Bessemer around 12:15 p.m.

Bowers is reported to have gotten out of the truck and then break the window on the female drivers vehicle before assaulting her.

The suspect was taken into custody around 12:37 p.m. The Bessemer Police Department is handling the case.

Bowers also faces an outstanding 3rd Degree Burglary warrant with the Hoover Police Department.
