BJCC Board pushing for entertainment district progress

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Board says they do not want to slow the development of a new hotel and entertainment district.

A bond closing is set for February 14th and work on the land is expected to begin late February or early March.

Board Chair E.C. Brown says he wants to see all papers before signing the bond deal. Some other board members are concerned that any delay could lead to rising interest for the bonds.
