Groups gather to help homeless in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Several groups are coming together to help the homeless in west Alabama.

The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center organized a meeting Tuesday where people with the Red Cross, Salvation Army and other groups talked about ways to get the homeless off the streets and into a stable situation.

Organizers say veterans are between 30 to 60 percent of the homeless population in Tuscaloosa.
