Homewood police chief announces retirement

HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) – Homewood Police Department's chief has announced he will be retiring.

Chief Phil Dodd made the announcement on Tuesday that his retirement will be effective beginning March 1st.

Deputy Chief Bob Copus will take over as interim chief until a permanent replacement is named.

Dodd was with Homewood PD for 34 years and served 3 years as chief.
