MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC) - By Sherea Harris
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC) - Parts of Mountain Brook were without water this morning and some residents sustained extensive water damage when a water main broke along Spring Valley Road.
About two inches of water filled a room in Bronwyn Pritchett's basement. She said, "That was my biggest frustration, that it did not stop for a couple of hours. Having to get kids to school, get them up and ready knowing that there was still flooding water." Adding to the unease, Pritchett wondered if her insurance would cover the damage.
Allan McCoin, the vice president of claims with Cobbs, Allen, and Hall says in Pritchett's case, a homeowner would not need to file any claims because Birmingham Water Works assumes responsibility. Birmingham Water Works is aware of the problem and a spokesperson says the agency is working with homeowners to resolve any issues.
