HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - The Jefferson County School Board on Thursday decided how it would make up days students missed last week due to the snow.
Students will now be in class on the following days:
February 21 (Presidents Day and first makeup day designated in the current school year calendar)
May 27 (was originally scheduled as a Teacher Workday; June 2 now will become the Teacher Workday except for the Clay-Chalkville zone which will be on June 3)
May 31 (additional makeup day designated in the current school year calendar)
June 1 (additional makeup day designated in the current school year calendar)
Clay Elementary School, Chalkville Elementary School, Clay-Chalkville Middle School, and Clay-Chalkville High School will make up their additional lost day on June 2 with June 3 becoming their teacher workday.
The school district's twelve-month employees will make up their days lost on February 21, March 14 (the Monday of Spring Break), and March 17 (the Thursday of Spring Break). Twelve-month employees already are scheduled to work March 15 and 16 of Spring Break.
The school system said if additional days are lost during the school year, Saturdays will be given first consideration as makeup days.
