BIRMINGHAM (WBRC) - We all know Birmingham is the Magic City, but some of the city's young professionals want to make sure everyone else knows it too.
Tuesday, more than 20 young professionals gathered at City Hall to announce they want to buy a new "Magic City" sign for Birmingham. The Elliott family gave the original sign to the city in 1926 that was on 5th Avenue for 30 years.
There has been a massive hunt to find it and city leaders believe it might have been sold for scrap.
Mayor William Bell said he is thankful for the gesture and hopes the effort will pay off.
