MONTGOMERY (WBRC) - Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange announced Tuesday in a release that former Governor Bob Riley's Task Force on Illegal Gambling is no longer necessary.
Dr. Robert Bentley made his first order of business as governor to dissolve the task force. Strange says the task force is no longer necessary because he, in conjunction with other executive branch officials will enforce the state's gambling laws.
Bentley has transferred all pending task force cases to the attorney general's office as of Tuesday afternoon. The cases will continue without interruption under the control and direction of Strange.
