Jefferson Co. Commission looks for ways to pinch pennies

BIRMINGHAM (WBRC) - Jefferson County Commissioners continue to look for ways to pinch money at their meeting Thursday.

A representative from Cooper Green Mercy Hospital told commissioners it could cut almost $4 million, with that money coming from a cut in supplies and benefits.

Jefferson County Coroner Dr. Robert Brissie said his office would cooperate with a cut, but said that a $16,000 cut for travel certifications would be difficult.
