Snow, freezing rain expected where you live

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Winter Storm Watch is currently in place for tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night, and Monday for the entire FOX6 WBRC coverage area.

Wintry precipitation in the form of sleet and snow will begin to overspread western sections of the state by 3 p.m. tomorrow. Later in the evening, a moderate band of snow is expected to develop along and north of the I-20 corridor. The heavier snow is expected to continue through midnight.

As for accumulations, totals could reach the 2-to-4 inch mark in areas near and along the I-20 corridor. North of I-20, snow totals could reach the 3-to-6 inch mark.

Over southern sections of the area, in places like Clanton, freezing rain will be a big concern. Ice accumulations could reach the quarter to half inch mark. A change over to freezing rain and sleet could occur early on Monday for central sections of our coverage area.
