NAUVOO, Ala. (AP) - A Christmas card filled with drugs landed two Walker County men in jail.

The Daily Mountain Eagle reports that 42-year-old Keith Robert King and 63-year-old William Thomas Lietz were arrested at the Nauvoo post office after they tried to pick up a package mailed from Chicago.

Authorities say the package included a Christmas card with three grams of heroin, a syringe, five Xanax pills and 20 methadone wafers taped inside.

Walker County Narcotics Enforcement Team officer Chuck Tidwell says another package addressed to King and sent from Indiana with 3.4 grams of heroin inside arrived a few weeks earlier. That package was never picked up.

Tidwell says the men face unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the second package but more charges could be added.
