How many bowl games are too many

There's still more than a week to go before Birmingham's bowl and backers are working hard to fill as many of those seats at Legion Field as possible.  If you're a Kentucky or Pittsburgh fan tickets for the BBVA Compass Bowl game are pretty cheap. There's a $30 and a $50 ticket.     That bowl is one of thirty five bowl games.  Some football fans watched games at Buffalo Wild Wing in Birmingham on Wednesday.  But not everyone is thrilled bowl season. Paul Finebaum with WJOX Radio says there are just too many games.

"For the most part out of the thirty five bowl games, I'll do away with about thirty of them," said Finebaum. "Let's have 5 or 6 meaningful games and move on."

Finebaum argues bowl games are suppose to be a reward for a good season

"Some of these teams on TV today they are horrible. They are teams with 6 and 6 records that don't deserve to go anywhere, instead we are acting like these teams have accomplished something," said Finebaum.

But some football fans are excited to get some post season action on the gridiron.

"I enjoy them, the more the merrier," said Stephanie Dougherty,

"For people that are off in the daytime there are bowl games and there also bowl games at night. So I guess it's convenient for everyone," said Chris Ross.

Mark Meadows with the BBVA Compass Bowl says the local interest is great and there's been more corporate packages sold this year.  More than 40,000 Wildcat and Panther Fans are expected at Legion Field on January 8th.
