Shoppers dealing with stress while trying to make others happy

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - By Emily Luxen

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - The holiday season brings family, food, entertainment, and also stress. And as Christmas nears, the feelings may intensify.

At Riverchase Galleria, the number of last minute shoppers increases as the week goes on. Shoppers are forced to deal with crowds, traffic jams, and parking shortages.  Shoppers said balancing everything can get overwhelming.

"There's just so much going on," said Denise Hunnicutt. "My son and his family just got in from California. We are all stressed out. There is just so much to do."
Said shopper Chantelle Clay, "There is so much pressure to buy stuff and find the perfect gift. Instead, you should be spending time with family."

The good news is you don't have to let stress ruin your holidays. Try and keep a positive attitude and not worry about things out of your control.

Ask family and friends for help when you feel overwhelmed. Try to exercise, get 8 hours of sleep a night, and eat healthy foods. Take time in each day for yourself so you can relax and clear your mind.
