Birmingham looking to make BBVA Compass Bowl fans at home

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The Birmingham City Council is getting ready to make sure Kentucky and Pittsburgh fans enjoy their trip to the BBVA Compass Bowl.

The Birmingham City Council has officially approved money to paint and put in new carpet and furniture. Mayor William Bell says the upgrades help the image of the city and Legion Field for the thousands of fans coming for the bowl in January.

Fans in town for the big game will be partying on Birmingham's south side again this year. The city council has approved the license for the BBVA Compass Bowl street party. Last year, thousands of people gathered for the party atmosphere.
