Impact Alabama backs savings bond initiative

BIRMINGHAM (WBRC) - Alabama is hoping to push more Alabamians to save their own money by backing a new initiative which calls for people to buy $50 dollars in saving bonds.

Once they do, they will get a ticket which can be used in a drawing to win $20,000 after the end of the tax season on April 15.

Wednesday, Birmingham Mayor William Bell joined Alabama Impact founder, Stephen Black to endorse the project.

An eligible family is one with a yearly income of $50,000 with at least one child, or no children with an income of $25,000.  For more information contact Black at Stephen.black@ua.edu or call 205-936-9963.
