Two teens die in weekend car crash

CALERA, AL (WBRC) - Two teenagers died over the weekend in a car crash in Calera.

Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley, in a statement Monday to FOX6 News, said Nathan Dunn, 16, of Helena, and Amber Parks, 14, of Helena, died Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at the intersection of Alabama Highway 25 and County Road 42 in Calera.  Chief Lemley said Dunn and Parks were both in one of the vehicles.

Chief Lemley said the cause of the crash was under investigation.

Cindy Warner, spokesperson for Shelby County Schools, said one of the teens was a student of Pelham High School and the other was a student of Columbiana Middle School.  Warner said grief counselors were on hand at both schools Monday morning to help students cope with the deaths.
