CHILTON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) – A man accused of second degree arson in the burglary and burning of a Chilton County church has changed his plea to 'not guilty' after initially accepting a plea deal.
34-year-old Bryan Christopher Henry is accused of arson stemming from the 2008 church fire of Providence Church on County Road 46 near Montevallo. Two other suspects in the case, 33-year-old Marcus Allen Brasher and 34-year-old Billy Sherrell Ray, are expected to accept plea deals. Brasher faces a charge of burglary and Ray faces burglary and theft charges.
Judge John Bush withdrew the plea deal for Henry and set the trial for May of 2011. The other suspects' trials will be held after Henry's.
