Six arrested in connection to Chevron robbery

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department says they have arrested six individuals in connection to a robbery.

Police say the suspects were stealing stuff from the Chevron on John Carroll Drive around midnight Friday by walking down the aisles and stuffing their pockets. When one of the owners confronted them, a fight broke out. The suspects hit three owners with a bat.

The suspects did not realize they were being watched. Police say a witness saw what happened and followed the men to a nearby hotel. That is when they moved in and made the arrests.

Broderick Johnson of Mobile, Alabama; Thurmon Polk of Detroit, Michigan; Velvet Farmer of Cleveland, Ohio; Howard Washington of Los Angeles, California; Makesonji Dieudonne or New Rochelle, New York; and Keenan Jefferson of Chicago, Illinois have all been charged with 1st degree robbery.

The suspects are being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
