The sheriff's department says Birmingham police contacted them after 41-year-old Anthony Dewayne Johnson entered central headquarters, and told police he had killed his wife. He gave officers an address in the 5900 block of Stonebriar Trace in Pinson.
Deputies responded to the location and forced their way in. Inside of the home, they found 39-year-old Sherry Johnson in the front master bedroom, dead on the scene with an apparent stab wound.
