TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A man accused of raping a woman at knife point turned himself in to Tuscaloosa authorities on Wednesday. 39-year-old Timmy Richardson faces rape and sodomy charges.

Captain Loyd Baker of the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit says the rape happened Tuesday at an apartment complex on Greensboro Avenue. The victim knows Richardson and claims he assaulted her at knife point. Richardson is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $60,000 in bonds.
This case is one of at least 4 rape cases under investigation in Tuscaloosa County. Three of the cases are considered date rapes where no one has been charged.

Pickens County authorities are looking into a rape from Friday where the woman claims the man who attacked her had flashing blue lights and posed as a police officer. No arrest has been made in that case either.
