Storms cause trouble across central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – Many areas are reporting damage from the storms that rolled across Alabama on Tuesday morning.

Two different barns in Rock Springs in Blount County have been reported as severely damaged. A hay barn had its side ripped off. Another barn nearby had its roof blown off and scattered into a lake.

In Chelsea in Shelby County, power crews are working on power lines on Highway 47. It is estimated that around 200 homes in the area lost power.

Pinson Elementary and Pleasant Grove Elementary in Jefferson County were both without power on Tuesday morning. Children were kept in the hallways during the blackout.

So far, there have been no injuries reported from the storms.
