Theft upgraded to robbery for wanted persons

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) – The Hoover Police Department says two individuals who struggled with and threatened loss prevention officers are now wanted on robbery charges.

According to police, the two attempted to steal merchandise from the Belk store at the Riverchase Galleria on November 18th before 5:00 p.m. While struggling with loss prevention officers, threats were made towards the officers as they escaped. This was enough to elevate the theft charge to a robbery charge.

The male suspect is between 5'10" and 6' tall and weighs between 145-160 pounds. He was wearing a jacket with "The Riddler" comic book character on it.

The female suspect is 5'4" to 5'6" and weighs between 150-180 pounds.

They fled the scene in a vehicle believed to be a light blue or silver Mitsubishi Galant.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Todd Henningsen at (205) 444-7534.
