BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) - Friends are remembering the 18-year-old killed in a car crash in Bessemer Monday afternoon.
Hillary Shelton was killed on I-20/59 when her car collided with an 18-wheeler.
The weather may have played a role. Hillary Shelton's mother spoke to FOX6 News.
She says the wet roads led to this fatal accident adding that her daughter hydroplaned causing her to lose control of her car.
Shelton graduated from Hueytown High School in May where she still has many friends.
The victim's friends say that everyone looked up to her. They say she was very friendly and sweet and was the person everyone went to for advice or any kind of help.
Haley Shirley said, "Everybody is still wondering how and why her. More people are mad because it was her instead of sad. She was just a great person. It makes you want to take more caution when you driving."
Kayla Earl said, "Just remember the advice she would give, she always said live your life to the fullest with no regrets."
Hillary Shelton's mother says Shelton was working and saving her money to go to college.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Shelton.
Her viewing is Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at Patterson Funeral Home.
