Sylacauga wreck victim in critical condition

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A young girl injured in a wreck that killed her mother and two brothers was listed Tuesday in critical condition at a Birmingham hospital.

Authorities said Angelia Fields, 12, was downgraded to critical condition at Children's Hospital. She had been listed in serious condition since being airlifted to the hospital Friday night.

Fields' mother, Jessica, 32, and her two brothers, Tony, 9, and John, 7, died in the Friday night crash at the intersection of Highway 280 and Highway 55. Manley Ray Williams, 19, was charged with three counts of reckless murder and one count of assault for causing the deaths.  Police said he ran a stop sign on Highway 55, crashing his vehicle into the Fields family on Highway 280.

Tuesday, students at B.B. Comer in Sylacauga made cards and wore white ribbons in support of the family. The school's principal said the students were very concerned.

If you would like to help the Fields family, a memorial fund has been set up at M&F Bank as well as Regions Bank.
