Leeds teenager charged with reckless murder in the deaths of a Sylacauga woman and her two children

SHELBY COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Manley Ray Williams 19 of Leeds has been charged with 3 counts of reckless murder and 1 count of first degree assault after causing an accident Friday night that took the lives of 36 year old Jessica Wyatt Fields and her two sons, 7 year old John Clay Fields and 9 year old Tony Ray Fields. The crash also injured Fields' daughter 12 year old Anglelina Fields who was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Birmingham. State Troopers say Williams was traveling south in a Mustang on County Road 55 in Shelby County when he failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with Fields' Chevrolet Lumina Van. Manley Ray Williams and his passenger, Joshua Stokes, received minor injuries and were transported to UAB Hospital. Williams was treated and released. He is in custody in the Shelby County Jail. The Alabama State Troopers are investigating the accident.
