BIRMINGHAM (WBRC) - Birmingham's mayor and city council had a chance to tour the rennovation at Five Points West Fair Park.
The huge facility boasts a hydrolically banked indoor track; one of only 12 in the world. There will also be an Olympic sized swimming pool.
Mayor William Bell is hoping to attract teams, universities and associations from across the
nation who will hopefully use the facility for swim and track meets.
Construction is scheduled to be complete by June 2011 and city leaders hope to start booking events shortly after.
