BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Mixed messages are being received about the Birmingham housing economy. The news is discouraging if you're a homeowner looking to sell.
New figures show home sales in the metro fell 39% in October compared to the same month last year. Realtors say that number looks worse than it is because the first-time homebuyer tax credit drove a lot of sales during the fall of last year.
The one bright spot, home prices are up 15%.
