Fans react after Saturday's college football games

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Another set of unpredictable games took place in college football this past weekend. The Auburn Tigers got an impressive win and Alabama's hopes of back-to-back championships ended.

The latest polls have Auburn at number two for a second straight week after Saturday's win over the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, 62-24.

Alabama dropped to number 12. The Crimson Tide lost to LSU in Death Valley, 24-21. It is the second loss of the season.

Auburn fans say they are standing behind quarterback Cam Newton in the midst of a recruiting inquiry by the NCAA. They think the Tigers could go all the way.

"It's not how you start, it's how you finish. So, as long as we keep winning, I think we'll be right in there among them," said Auburn fan Jerry Henderson.

Meanwhile, Alabama fans are wondering why the Tide team did not live up to the preseason hype.

"I was confident we'd do well and we have some excellent players, so I'm not sure what the problem is this year," said Alabama fan Maxine Jones.

Both Tiger fans and Bama fans tell us they are anxious for this year's Iron Bowl.
