Walker County Narcotics Officer injured in a chase

WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A Walker Narcotics Officer is in the hospital after being injured during a chase with a drug suspect Friday night.  Walker County Sheriff's Department said Drug Agents were attempting to pull over Michael Kirkland.  Kirkland and a female passenger took off in a car leading Drug Agents on a chase.  A Narcotics Officer was injured after an accident during the chase.  The Officer was airlifted to UAB Hospital. The female suspect was taken into custody.  Kirkland was able to get away.  During a search of the suspects car officers found two mobile meth labs known as a shake and bake lab.  The Officer injured during the chase is in stable condition.
