CALHOUN COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Weaver Elementary School's assistant principal is okay after an attack from a student.
Calhoun County Sheriff Chief Deputy Matthew Wade says the 11-year-old student kicked the pregnant assistant principal in the stomach and hit her. The attack didn't hurt her or her baby.
It happened last Friday, which was last day of school before fall break.
Wade says the assistant principal had been called to the room after the student allegedly threw his snack at his teacher. Wade says the student will likely be petitioned in juvenile court with felony assault because of a law that makes attacking a teacher or school official a felony.
