Former police officer pleads 'not guilty' to unreasonable force charge

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A former Birmingham police officer pleaded not guilty on Thursday morning in an arraignment.

David Doran is accused of using unreasonable force in a chase and arrest that made national headlines back in 2008. Doran was indicted two weeks ago by a federal grand jury for the arrest of Anthony Warren.

Doran was arraigned and, by law, had to enter a not guilty plea. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
