Two kids struck by lightning in Center Point

CENTER POINT, AL (WBRC) - Two children were struck by lightning Tuesday afternoon during a thunderstorm in the eastern portion of Jefferson County.

Paramedics were called to Tammera Trail at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on reports of two children struck by lightning. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department said two boys were in close vicinity of a lightning strike. They were transported to Children's Hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.  

A strong thunderstorm was moving through the area at the time of the lightning strike. No word on damage.
