Father of football player involved in Spain Park fight talks

By Rick Karle

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - The father of the former Spain Park football player that was involved in a practice skirmish with former coach David Shores has spoken out for the first time.

The parent, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Rick Karle statements made by Shores that the coach did not punch his son are false. The parent also said former Spain Park Athletic Director Gena Morris was not being truthful when she stated that his son admitted not being punched by the coach.

FOX6 Sports has obtained statements from some 27 Spain Park football players, numerous parents, and assistant coaches.

Shore's attorney tells Rick Karle he and Shores stand by the Hoover School Board's decision to place Shores in an administrative role at the board.
