Sentencing for Fanaei murder suspect falls on 3-year anniversary

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Sentencing for the last of three men convicted in the murder of a UAB student will fall on the three year anniversary of her death.

Kayla Fanaei was shot and killed October eighth, 2007. She was found inside her car in the parking lot of Glen Iris School near the UAB campus.

The third suspect, Alfred Marina, will be sentenced Friday. He was found guilty of one count of felony murder. Prosecutors say he served as the lookout during the murder.

Maurice McCarty and Greg Hill are already serving time in prison for Fanaei's murder.
