GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) - A Gadsden man has been arrested for stealing a computer from the Etowah County Courthouse.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, in a statement Thursday to FOX6 News, said Jeffery Shane Deerman, 30, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony theft of property. Entrekin said Deerman was seen stealing a laptop computer from one of the Court Referral offices, carried it down the hallway, and hid it in a restroom trash can. At the time, Deerman was on probation and was reporting to the Court Referral Office for a scheduled drug test.
Deerman was being held Thursday in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
