Cow returned to pasture after freeway visit

MORRIS, AL (WBRC) – A cow was returned to its pasture after it took a brief stroll along I-65 South on Tuesday.

Randy Christian with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says they received a call from the state troopers office about a cow alongside the freeway near the Morris exit. The Morris Police Department and the Gardendale Police Department arrived on the scene with two ASAP trucks.

The hole in the fence where the cow escaped was located and a deputy was able to lure the cow back inside the fence by putting food inside. The fence panel was secured.

Authorities say the owner of the cow is unknown at this time.
