Suspect arrested in 2002 homicide case

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department says they have made an arrest in connection to a homicide that occurred eight years ago.

On May 11, 2002, officers from the West Precinct responded to the 5300 block of Park Avenue Southwest to find 22-year-old Aaron Tift had been beaten, shot and stabbed. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced Tift deceased.
