ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - The United Methodist Church has suspended 1 of its senior pastors in north Alabama amid an inquiry into a complaint at his previous church.

Officials announced Sunday that Rev. Bill Brown was being suspended from his duties at First United Methodist Church in Anniston. The move is part of an investigation into an administrative complaint at Brown's previous church, First United Methodist of Montevallo.

The church didn't say what the investigation concerned, and Brown hasn't commented publicly on the review.

Brown was appointed to the church in Anniston in June after serving at the church in Montevallo. An associate pastor is filling in for him during the investigation.
