TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Deputies continued their search Tuesday for a man wanted in connection with a burglary.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department, in a statement Monday evening to FOX6 News, said deputies were searching for Michael David Champion, 35, of Tuscaloosa County.
Champion and Jason Lynn Watson, 26, were each charged with burglary in connection with items stolen from a business in the 16000 block of Highway 171.
Investigators said at approximately 2:00 a.m. last Wednesday, deputies responded to the business on a burglary call and learned tools, paint and other assorted items were missing. While reviewing video from a surveillance camera, one of the deputies recognized Watson and Champion.
Deputies then drove to Watson's residence to find Watson and a vehicle similar to the one seen in the surveillance video. Watson fled, but turned himself in to authorities two days later. Most of the items stolen from the business were recovered.
Anyone with information regarding the location of Champion is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department at (205) 752-0616.
