The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, July 27, 2010:
Man…it's really hot out there…has been for some time now. It can get on your nerves, can't it…make you a bit frustrated, especially when that hot air hits you in the face. What if you turn that frustration into a bit of kindness…doesn't have to be anything big…perhaps an unexpected smile for someone…hold a door…make space for someone in line at the grocery store or in traffic…say thank you…acknowledge a job well done…random acts of kindness. Maybe you could buy a fan and give it to a local agency to distribute to someone who needs it in our dog days of summer. See someone pumping gas at the convenience store? Maybe you could help them pay for it. Big or small whatever you can do, can make the day for someone else and ease the discomfort of all of this heat for both of you…just a bit.
