SMITH LAKE, AL (WBRC) - The body of a person who disappeared Monday in Smith Lake has been found.
The Winston County Sheriff's Department said the body was pulled from the lake at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The identity of the victim was not released until relatives could be notified.
Emergency workers from a number of law enforcement agencies resumed their search for the possible drowning victim Tuesday morning after searching Monday night. The victim went missing in an area on Smith Lake near the Duncan Bridge on Curry Highway. That is near the Walker County and Winston County border.
